We established Daphnis and Chloe in 2013, in a small workshop right under the Acropolis Hill of Athens. Our dream was to see the limited batch terroir herbs of Greece in the kitchens of home cooks worldwide.
We come from a small country, with a peculiar geographical distribution and variable microclimates where Mediterranean herbs thrive. Studied by scientists and traded by farmers since the beginning of history, these little known ingredients have great culinary value. However, they rarely cross the borders of their places of origin.
Our job has become to travel the country for superior herbs and inspire farmers to believe in forgotten, heirloom varieties. We source from small organic farms across Greece, and we know our growers by their first name. Curating our plants’ journey from sourcing to shipping, we make sure they’ll maintain their magical properties all the way to your kitchen!
