The sweet, highly aromatic Pennyroyal Mint, had an important role in the cuisine of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Its culinary use dwindled during the Medieval era. Today it is known only by a small portion of herb lovers and it is used mostly in tea brews. However, creative cooks will love experimenting with this sophisticated herb.
This mint has a flowery fragrance with subtle notes of menthol. Use in small quantities to give an edgy, fresh sweetness that recalls spearmint to your stews, soups, boiled salads or sweets. Pennyroyal should not be used during pregnancy or lactation. Not reccomented for use in persons with liver or kidney disease.
